UFC 329 · JULY 11
McGregor vs Holloway 2: the return nobody believed would actually happen
Nearly five years after the leg break against Poirier, Conor McGregor headlines UFC 329 against Max Holloway on 11 July — a rematch 13 years in the making, with Pimblett vs Saint Denis underneath.
The Transfer Siren · 1 July 2026
It has been teased, cancelled, memed and written off — but it is finally on the poster. Conor McGregor returns at UFC 329 on 11 July, and the man across the cage is Max Holloway, thirteen years after their first meeting.
Why it matters: McGregor has not fought since the horror leg injury against Dustin Poirier almost five years ago. Holloway, meanwhile, never stopped — the BMF belt run rebuilt him into one of the most durable draws in the sport. First fight, a young McGregor took a decision off an even younger Holloway in 2013. Both men are unrecognisable from those versions.
The undercard carries UK interest: Paddy Pimblett vs Benoit Saint Denis is the co-main — a genuine crossroads fight for Paddy's title ambitions against the most violent pressure fighter in the division.
And in boxing: Tyson Fury's latest un-retirement lands on 24 July. The Gypsy King's return sets up a back-half of 2026 where the two loudest men in combat sports are both active again. The content writes itself.
