Vincent Kompany rushed to hospital after collapsing at Bayern Munich training
Vincent Kompany has been rushed to hospital after collapsing while observing a Bayern Munich reserve training session on Friday. The Belgian manager, who had been nursing a virus in recent days, felt unwell during the session and required immediate medical attention. Bayern Munich confirmed that Kompany is currently undergoing thorough examinations and will remain under medical care. For the time being, his coaching staff will manage all training and match-related operations. This development comes just days after the Bundesliga leaders drew 2-2 at home against Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday. Kompany was on the bench for that match despite his viral infection. Bayern’s board member for sport, Max Eberl, stated that Kompany’s health is the club’s top priority and that he will be given as much time as he needs to recover. The team is due to travel to Freiburg on Sunday, with the coaching staff stepping in to handle preparations in the manager’s absence.
