Gudjohnsen double lifts Blackburn to 2-0 win over Wrexham
Andri Gudjohnsen scored twice to guide Blackburn Rovers to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wrexham at Ewood Park. The Icelandic striker, returning from injury, opened the scoring just before half-time by sweeping in a rebound after Sam Morsy's shot was parried. He sealed the win in the 79th minute with a powerful strike from 12 yards, marking his eighth goal of the campaign. This result marks Blackburn's third win in five matches, moving Tony Mowbray's side within two points of the Championship play-off places. Wrexham, managed by Phil Parkinson, were outclassed and extended their winless away run to four games. Despite chances from Dapo Afolayan and Augustus Kargbo, Blackburn controlled the match effectively. Wrexham's best moments came from Sam Smith and Joe Worrall, but Anthony Patterson was rarely tested. The result highlights the positive impact of Gudjohnsen's return on the team's recent form.
