Arsenal beat Everton to level on points with Man City
Arsenal have moved level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City after a 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium. The champions capitalised on City's first league defeat of the season at Aston Villa to close the gap, now trailing only on goal difference. Ezri Konsa opened the scoring with a scrappy first goal for the club, poking in from a corner to end Arsenal's wait for a set-piece goal this season. Viktor Gyokeres, starting his first league game of the campaign, provided the assist. Gabriel sealed the win with a header on his 200th Premier League appearance, overcoming a second-half injury scare. Everton, winless in 14 league trips to Arsenal, missed a golden chance to equalise when Thierno Barry failed to convert a weak back pass from Ben White. David Moyes' side have now suffered back-to-back defeats, extending their search for a first away win of the season.
