Zlatan Ibrahimovic names Thiago Silva the most complete defender he has ever faced
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has identified Thiago Silva as the most complete defender he has ever encountered. However, he singled out Silva for special praise, stating that he had an "Ibrahimovic in defence" while they were teammates at Paris Saint-Germain. The pair won four Ligue 1 titles together during their time in France. Ibrahimovic, who is now 45, rarely hands out such high compliments, making the endorsement particularly significant. The Brazilian centre-back previously won the 2020-21 Champions League and the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea. His career has been marked by resilience, including a severe tuberculosis diagnosis in 2005 that nearly ended his professional life. Despite these challenges, the veteran continued to compete at the highest level before returning to his homeland.
