Lineker and Shearer: Carrick Not the Problem at Man Utd
Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have united in their belief that Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is not the primary cause of the club's recent struggles. Speaking on the Rest Is Football Podcast, both former players argued that the issues at Old Trafford lie above the coaching staff. Lineker specifically stated that the club must recognise the problems are not just down to the coach, urging fans not to turn against Carrick. Sources indicate United are preparing for a potential managerial change, with other candidates being sounded out. However, Carrick is expected to remain in charge for the upcoming match against Bournemouth. While the board faces criticism for recruitment, Carrick must still improve the current squad's performance.
